Terms of Use

By using Your Ripple Coin Effect — the website, the app, or a physical coin — you agree to these terms.

1. The coin is meant to move

A coin is a physical object. When one is passed to you it is yours to carry, not to keep: the service exists to record it moving on. We cannot guarantee that any coin will keep travelling, that it will come back to you, or that it will not be lost. That is the nature of handing something to a stranger.

2. Your account

You sign in with Apple, with Google, with a passkey, or with an email address and a password, and you are responsible for what happens under your account. One account per person. Do not impersonate someone else.

3. What you write is public and permanent

Notes you add to a coin are published to everyone who holds it, and they stay on the coin's journey. You keep ownership of what you write, and you grant us the right to display it as part of that journey, indefinitely.

4. Acceptable use

• Do not post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexual, or that identifies another person without their consent.
• Do not advertise, campaign, or solicit through a coin's journey.
• Do not fake handoffs, pass a coin to yourself, or manipulate a journey.
• Do not attempt to break, overload, or reverse the service.

We may remove an entry, suspend an account, or retire a coin if these rules are broken. Entries are reviewed when our automatic checks flag them.

5. Reporting something on a coin

If you find a note that breaks the rules above, tell us and we will look at it. Email abuse@yourripplecoineffect.com with the coin's code — the RPL- number engraved on its face — and what is wrong with the entry.

We read every report. A note that breaks the rules is removed from public view; the coin keeps its journey, with that step marked as withdrawn rather than silently deleted, because the people on either side of it are part of the same chain.

6. Orders

Coins are sold in two forms. A regular coin carries the standard face and is struck in advance, so it ships from stock. A limited run is cut with words you choose and does not exist until you order it: those discs are made for that order alone and are not sold to anybody else.

Prices, taxes and shipping are shown at checkout, and payment is taken by Stripe — your card details go to them and never to us. We post to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Coins travel as ordinary post once they leave us.

Ten percent of every sale goes to the Ripple Fund, which pays for the coins that come after yours. That share is stated again at the point of sale.

If a coin arrives damaged, faulty, or not what you ordered, tell us and we will replace it or refund it. A regular coin you simply do not want can be sent back unused within 30 days of arriving for a refund of what you paid for it; return postage is yours unless the coin was faulty. A limited run is engraved to your order and cannot be sent back for that reason, which is the trade for having it made rather than picked off a shelf. Write to support@yourripplecoineffect.com with the name on the payment.

A coin you have already scanned is registered to you and on its way into a public record, so treat scanning it as the point of no return rather than opening the box.

7. The service is provided as it is

We work to keep the service running and accurate, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for the loss of a physical coin.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above.
